For developers
The same facts you see on the site, as a read-only REST API and an MCP server. No key needed for fair-use access.
Permitted use
- Allowed: retrieving facts to answer a user’s question, with attribution and a link to
canonical_url; building apps that call the API live. - Not allowed without permission: training or fine-tuning models, bulk mirroring, resale, republishing the dataset.
- Different things: a search crawler fetching pages (governed by robots.txt), an API integration, and an MCP tool call are separate access modes. Being reachable by an agent is not permission to train on the content.
- Limits: 60 API requests/minute and 120 MCP requests/minute per client. Source licenses (OpenStreetMap-derived data is ODbL) may add attribution/share-alike duties to your use.
